Hi!
I have a question about using Apple Qmaster. I want to export video material from Final Cut Pro via Compressor, but unfortunately the compression takes forever. I would like to use both cores of my Macbook Pro so it speeds up a bit, and I already read some instructions on how to set it up, but it doesn't work. When I open Apple Qmaster and click on "Compressor" under services, the button "Options for selected service" is gray, so I can't click on it - even though that's where you're supposed to set the number of instances. Is it possible that one core is always reserved for other processes, so I can't use both for Compressor? I attached a screenshot of my Qmaster window.
This is what I'm working with:
Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / 2 GB 1067 MHz
Final Cut Pro 7
Compressor 3.5
Apple Qmaster 3.5
I'd really appreciate if anybody could help me out, since using two cores for compressing would make quite a difference I think. Thank you!
