Naming Device in iPhoto

I am trying to give my Sony Cyber-shot a name in the left column on my iMac.
Can someone give me some help with this. My iPhone comes up with that designation but I don't know how to name my camera

Im so glad somebody else has this problem! Im always made to feel such an idiot when I post on this Forum that I just read and hope somebody comes up with the same issue and I get my answer.....

I too am trying to do the exact same thing as my camera always comes up as a device called "No name". I would like to name it but can find no way of doing so.

Any genius's out there willing to share??? Thanks

Give this a try:


Open iPhoto and go to Preferences. Change the 'Connecting Camera Opens' to 'No Application', then see if the Device mounts on the Desktop. If it does then you can rename the Device.
