I am using a newish macbook air.

When I attempt to upload a photo clicking pictures takes me to iPhoto Library
and I cannot open the library to access the picture I want to send. It appears that it wants to attach the whole library.

This situation has occurred recently

Please advise

Thanks

You don't upload iPhoto images from the Pictures folder. When you click "Browse" or "Upload" and the file browser window pops up, scroll down to the Media section of the sidebar on the left. There will be an option that says Photos which will take you to your iPhoto library and all its events and albums.

Nope, you are doing it wrong. He is talking about media menu in Mail.

You are talking about the sidebar in a Finder window. Two entirely different things.

If you have the latest iPhoto, you can email photos directly from within the program. You can also drag a photo in iPhoto out to the desktop, then use that as an attachment if you prefer (you can toss the copy on the desktop once the email has been sent)

Otherwise, you need to learn how to use the media inspector:

Excellent presentation chasm - can you tell me which program you used to 'create' this
picture with your added edits, the arrows etc ?
is it a special app or part of iPhoto?
always wanted to do this but....
thanks

Chasm,
That's the neatest reply with explicit directions I've seen .I'like to know how you did it also. Van

Probably used shift-command +4 to cut it then used the annotate in Preview. Then pasted into his reply. Just a guess.

Galdalph has it exactly right except that I host such images on ImageShack.

Shift-command 4 to take a picture of a section of a window, then open in Preview and use the annotation tools to make the text and arrows. I could have (and should probably switch to using) Skitch for something like this since it's free and a bit fancier, but I've gotten in the habit of using Preview.

You're saving it as a PDF when it should be a JPG but otherwise you seem to have gotten it.
