Bluetooth keyboard from iMac to iPad

I just purchased a wired/usb keyboard to replace my bluetooth keyboard on my iMac. I will be using the bluetooth for my iPad. The problem that I am having is that the bluetooth keyboard is still discoverable on my iMac - I do not want that to happen any longer since I will be using it with my iPad.

How can I keep my iMac from "seeing" the bluetooth keyboard? And are there any tips on more permanently pairing it with my iPad?

Your Mac's Specs
Way... way too many specs to list.
Unpair it from the iMac. Then pair it with the iPad. That should do it.
