If you have an iMac running with all the software and data, can you install Bootcamp just like that?

I mean, if you make a partition on a PC, you have to format and install the OS. It that the same on a Mac?

I'm interested to make a 200GB partition to run MS Window on it.

And for further reading go into Utilities > Bootcamp and print and read the guidelines. Important to know that Bootcamp must make, and format, the partition. Do not use Disk Utility.
