You can - using Bootcamp, Parallels or the Virtual Machine of your choice. I use VMWare Fusion 4 for Win 7 on my machines.

I changed the title of your thread to something more descriptive. This will help garner more responses.
Boot Camp requires XP SP2 or newer (see pg. 4 here) so you'll have to resort to virtualizing it. VirtualBox supports it (see here) but not well - guest additions don't work and it is known to be slow. It looks like it's supported in Fusion (here) and Parallels (here - it looks like SE is the only edition supported) as well.

On the Windows partition for sure, and Microsoft Security Essentials is excellent and free. Most senior members do not run AV software on their Macs, but if being from the Windows side you are paranoid about this, download ClamXAV which is also freeware.
