i use imovie a lot (in my school imovie club), and ive mastered it in a few months. ive made a few photo montages and short movies in it.

Would final cut express be a good next step?

I was wondering if it would be worth it as a holiday present.

Yes, Final Cut Express would be worth it.

You would have to forget everything you know about iMovie though, because FCE is nothing like it. It's incredibly powerful editing software once you get down into it, but on the surface it's really easy to navigate.

I would definitely recommend it for a Christmas present. :mac:
