In addition to my Word for Mac Files going to my external drive. A copy of each is going to my list of files on Word. Is there a way to stop this?

If you're referring to the list of "recent files" that Word displays, you can turn that off by going into Word preferences, General, and use the down - up arrow under display to set it to zero.

If you're referring to something else, please explain further.
