migration to mac air

Bought my wife a Mac Air for valentines. Used migration assistant to move over her files from her older macbook pro. Everything looked to go smoothly but now i cant log into the mac air. It will not recognize the password :( Is my only choice to reinstall the OS ??

I just checked Disk Utility from the Recovery partition and there is no way to reset the password from there as there has been in past versions of OS X. So yes, unfortunately you probably need to reinstall Lion on the Air.

And do not use the migration assistant to move her data from the MBP, instead make a Time Machine backup and use that to migrate the data.
