• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

iMovie Importing Problem

For some reason iMovie is not letting me import some of my files. They are saved as a .mp4 file but when I got to import them it will not let me highlight them. I have other files saved as .mp4 and it will let me upload them. What is the issue? It seems to be all the files over 5 minutes long it won't let me import them, and all the files under 5 minutes it will. Here is a screenshot of an example:

Are they from the same source...? if they have been renamed with an MP4 extension...obviously they won't work...If from someone else..that's possible.

Since we can't see the filename of the longer file, maybe there's an illegal character in the title? Does changing the name of that file to "test.mp4" make a difference?

The file name is "47-12 MOAB Scar dome dom.mp4". Though I will try exporting it as that file name and see if it works.
