mp3 audio cd is read to be blank

hi, just got new audio book in mp3 format but my macbook pro 2009 reads them as being blank. what am i missing?

what am i missing? my new audio book in mp3 format reads as being blank by my macbook pro 2009. all other music and dvds work fine. The audio book does play on my pc. please help.

Hmm,
Can it read any other DVD's, CD's? Or does it fail with them too?
Test it with the install DVD's that came with your Mac, just stick them in a see if they mount in the Finder.

If the audio book CD is in MP3 format, iTunes should open and play it automatically. Are you sure it's an MP3? Did you try to open it in iTunes?
