• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hey everybody I am new to macs and new to the forums. My Dad actually purchased an iMac for himself and it is up to me to get everything going. So heres the situation. His video camera uses a HDD and a video format that iPhoto doesn't recognize. I was, however, able to upload his videos using iMovie. Unfortunately, I think iMovie has a little to much going on for his purposes at the moment. Now, he may start using iMovie for some light editing later on but for now I am looking for a program that I can view and organize his videos in a manner similar to iPhoto. Thnx

Hi and welcome to the forums.
You don't say what format the vids are in but ; What about iTunes ?? You can view and organise movies in iTunes, then you can still use iMovie for light editing by just importing from iTunes.
If your your looking for something a little more, then post back and we can take it further .
Do you want to pay any $ ?? Because there is also Apple's Apple - Aperture - What's new in Aperture 3. that can be downloaded from the MAS (Mac App Store)

Cheers
