How do I fit a video to tv screen size?

I have a Mac OXX 10.5 and want to watch videos on my Sony bravia 1080.

I found out how to put it on the screen but Its not fit to the T.V. :Confused:

Help!

Does your Desktop fill the TV screen? If so does not selecting Full Screen for the video fill the screen?

No

I do click full screen on the video playing on the computer but that does not fill the sonys screen. I have a 42 inch. It does not even go half way. Plus when I click detect settings in display. It should show up that Im with sony bravia but nothing happens.
