Ive been on instagram a lot lately and have seen some amazing photography
im blown away at the type of pics the iphone can create!

i know that people are using some other 3rd party apps outside of Instagram's standard filters to create the look of these photos. these are all pics taken with the iphone 4s.

does anyone know which apps out there can create the look of these kinds of photos?

i will include a couple different sets of photos

*SET 1* this is a quote from this guys profile
Sharing arty and fantasy-looking photos I created with my iPhone.

*SET 2* this guy takes a bunch of average every day photos but even the color in his every day photos really POP.i doubt this is just adjustment of contrast and saturation there seems to be other filters going on here

In no particular order it looks like he's used apps like, lens light, simplyhdr, ihdr, snap seed, filter storm, camera+, perfect photo, dynamic light, juxtaposer - and variants of these apps abound.

I was just about to say -- he takes photos with the 4S, runs them through what appears to be SEVERAL other post-processing apps before finally using instagram.

The lightning one is nice but honestly I don't think much of the rest of them. Mostly way over-processed IMO.

Here's some good Apps they use...

I recognise some of the apps, since I use them on my iPod Touch G4 for wee projects.
It's fun to drop the photos into a few, and you learn which ones have the best frames, overlays, light effects etc. They all offer something good, and can really exercise your creativity in a small space. Enjoy! :)

My favourite: Pixl-r-omatic (FREE - Try it online, (It has hundreds of effects) Or get App for Mac or iPhone/iPod)

The following are for iPod or iPhones: I've gone through a few and I like these ones, use them all the time:

King Camera (You can crop, rotate, edit white balance, exposure etc. Also video and self timer are included.)
TtV Photo Studio
TtV Camera ( I think they're using this as well, recognise the scratch pattern.)
Picfx (they are using this one for sure, I recognise 'sparks' in one.)
Pic Grunger

One cool one with at least one decent fisheye lens is Snappr.
Low res, but they plan to change that.

These are a few of my favourites. Good for social media or even small event cards, or for creating cool images to later paint on a large canvas.

If you want to video 8mm is one of the best apps out there for an aged effect. Several lenses and light leaks, even has the jitters and movie reel sound.
