Hi I have the newest MacBook pro that released just a couple months ago. I am looking to buy a new camera and I was wondering if the fujifilm s4000 camera would sync video to iMovie. I know for sure the nikon coolpix p500 will sync but I'm not sure about the fuji s4000 any one know if it will sync?

If it's not a Sony, chances are high it will work fine.

The s4000 doesn't use AVCHD for HD video (which is often where the incompatibilty arises - with the many takes on AVCHD). It uses motion JPEG AVIs.
So you shouldn't have any issues importing to iMovie
