I guess aim really dense but I cannot find a way to transfer or store files from from Macbook Pro to a connected external storage drive.

When I try to drag and drop any file it just boomerangs back and won't go to the external drive.

When I try a save or save as i just get a message that file "x" cannot be saved as file "x".

Can someone enlighten me?

Your Mac's Specs
Way... way too many specs to list.
the external drive is NTFS isn't it?

OS X can't write to NTFS natively, in fact the ONLY OS that can.. is Windows. (it's their filesystem)

You can fix this by:

1. Reformatting the drive to Mac OS X Extended (Journaled if you want it to be a bootable drive) or

2. Pay for a third-party driver such as Paragon NTFS to allow the Mac to read and write to the drive as though it was native. $20 I think.
