Ha..lo!
Looks like a great forum you have here. Windows user since Day 1.
I finally have a useable Mac to call my own but some things are not very intuitive. Renaming files should be so easy, but I have problems. I have a .jpg on my desktop; I highlight the name and type over it but it does not keep.
Also I'm using Word for Mac and when I try to add a contact photo it works on some contacts but not on others. Strange???

Hi, as regards renaming files, just hit enter or return when you've finished typing, and the new name will stick.

Cheers :)

You shouldn't have to hit Enter. Type over the name and click elsewhere should work also. Maybe it's a permissions issue. Highlight the stubborn file and Get Info on it. Do you have read and write permissions?
