Storyboard push issues

Hey,
I am having an issue with my storyboard. I have a button and I have setup the button to show the next view by "push", however when i press the button it doesn't work. I have also tried with the gestures and they don't work either. The way I setup the button and gesture to show the view controller is by clicking control and dragging the button do the next view. Please help I can't find anything online and i'm desperate.

Have you created this to exist within a UINavigationController? You can't just push a new view controller if the navigation controller isn't what contains the original view controller.
