I have shot a movie using a JVC 700 camera recording in HD on SD cards. I want to edit on FCP7. So I used AVID to export my clips to .MOV files onto my hard drive. What setting adjustments (Easy Setup) do I need to make my editing in FCP as easy as possible.

Clip settings are:
File type: .mov
Dimensions: 1920 x 1080
Codecs: H.264, Timecode

I'm new to FCP and just need the basic setup, please.

for use in FCP 7, your best config is:

.mov
1920x1080
ProRES

not H.264

There are a variety of ProRES options with fcp7, 422, 422 hq, 422 lt, 422 proxy and 444. Personally, I usually use just 422, but you can probably get away with using lt - I'd test it with a few of your clips first before making a decision though.

Can you explain a little more clearly what exactly I need to do? Keep in mind I can't change the clips themselves, they are what they are.

Shots seem to look ok on my current settings, but some movement gets pretty pixelated.

Thanks for any extra info you can provide.

Do you still have the master recordings? If you do, don't use AVID to initially transcode, import directly into FCPX. It's probably looking pixelated on faster movement because the bitrate of your current transcode is too low to support the rate of change in the video.
