• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I recently bought an external hardrive because I have so many photos and videos that my start up disk is full. I think I transferred the photo library correctly to the external drive. (It shows in the gdrive)

When I put the i photo library frm my mac in the trash, I was afraid to delete it until I was certain they were on the extrernal drive. I did not empty the trash but had the iphoto library frm computer in trash. When I tried to open the photos on the external drive, it said photo library could not be found and would not open the folder? I don't know if they transferred or not and I am afraid to delete anything from my computer without knowing so I am back where I started with start up disk being full and $200 in the hole for the external drive.

What do I need to do to get photos off computer and free up space??

PS - I am not the most computer literate person
