Duplicate pics in iPhoto 11

Is there any way to stop iPhoto 11 from making a duplicate copy of an image when I use PS Elements 10 as the external editor?
iPhoto 09 did not do this.

No, there is no way to stop it.

Yes, you are right that iPhoto 09 did not do this.

I too find it annoying, but it is a safety feature. Apple got tired of people whining that they "lost" their unaltered version so they can compare them. So dupe is on by default now.

People can be stupid sometimes.
