transmission problem

Hi I am a new Mac user, transmission is very slow , like 2 to 3 days to load a movie, I made sure firewall is off, opened port in router,I used the same numbeer for internal port and external port , I used the both setting, I left name blank, when I check the network when in transmission, sometimes port is openn and sometimes not, even when port is open, still downloads at same rate. thanks for any help
