Hi, I'm new to Mac's and I recently downloaded the new quickbooks to my iMac. It says that my operating system is not sufficient and it looks like I need to upgrade to snow leopard..

Is this something I can do online. Do I have to buy it in the store?

Need Help.

Snow Leopard is 10.6
Once you download the update to 10.6.8 (if you buy a 10.6.7 or earlier disc) you will have the App Store. Then you can download the upgrade to Lion 10.7 if you want, and if your specs allow it. But, it's not free.

And before you outlay your money, make sure your computer is an Intel model as Snow Leopard will not run on older PowerPC Macs. Always helps to provide you model and operating system details.

You can purchase Snow Leopard direct from Apple on line, or if you can still find a copy in a store, purchase it there. Either way, it's $29.99.
