iOS 5 has a hidden auto-correction bar similar to the one used in Android, notes 9to5Mac. When on, the bar lets people pick from a range of possible words instead of just one. Typing "hel," for instance, brings up "gel," "help," "he'll," "****" and "held" as options....

Your Mac's Specs
Late 2013 rMBP, i7, 750m gpu, OSX versions 10.9.3, 10.10
As I recall, this feature was a BlackBerry feature that I seem to remember having on my storm 2 back when I had it. I could be wrong (since I honestly don't know when android first started using it, and I don't know when BB first started using it - I only know that my storm 2 had it), but I'm thinking android got it from BB.
