When i import pics into iPhoto the exif data only recognises canon lenses and displays the model in the pic info. It does not recognise my Tokina 12 - 24 lens. Is there a way to solve this?

The problem with using a third party lens, is the lens must 'trick' the camera into thinking it is a Canon lens in order for it to work properly. In doing this, the EXIF data does not always line up with the lens type. Sometimes, the lens focal length is completely wrong (Tokina 50 mm f/1.4 shows up as a Canon 35 f/1.8 etc). There are ways to change this but I don't think you can do it in iPhoto.

I wondered if there was possibly a way to add the data manually to iPhoto, then whenever it 'saw' the same lens again in the exif it would return the correct data?
