I can eject an external hard drive no problem but if i then want to open the same hard drive do i have to unplug and plug it back in or is there an easier way.
When removing any device such as a drive its always best to eject/unmount to keep from corrupting it and on a Mac if you plug it in it should recognize it and if formatted
correctly read and write to it. If this is inconvenient then a networking drive or a USB
drive attached to a router is the only other option and it still needs to be disconnected
through the software before it can be physically disconnected for the same reasons. It
just gives you the option of no wires to the computer and sleeps so to speak till your back within communication range.
