lost video

more than likely my fault, but I looked on desktop today to put some video that I had saved for 9 months for a project. Now it does not exist. and the final cut files say media offline.

is there any place other than HD that it is saved?

if you have a general idea of the name, you should be able to use spotlight. Often I find that finder doesn't always find files, so I use the free EasyFind.
