Hi guys, I recently bought a mac book and it didnt have install disks and the hard drive was done, I have tiger install disks for my old emac, and I was wondering if I could install tiger, then upgrade to lion? I don't want to buy the usb thumb drive (70) dollars, versus 30 straight through apple.

The eMac disks will not work with the MacBook as they are specific for the eMac. And you can not go from Tiger to Lion nor can you go from Leopard to Lion. The only way is from Snow Leopard 10.6.6 which is needed to access the App store. Looks like you have no other choice but to buy the Lion flash drive.
