No where could that folder be??

Outlook Temp folder -Newbie and can't find it

I swear I posted this but it's not showing up.

New Mac user... I opened an excel file, did some work with it...saved it-not knowing it was saving in a folder called OUTLOOK TEMP FOLDER. Having of a ****ens of a time trying to find said folder and file..and really need my saved work. I tried using the spotlight-no go. Please please help

Check ~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/Outlook Temp/ (~ is short form for your home directory).

Sorry about that bob....wasn't trying to cause confusion or problems...new to the whole forum thing ...thinking i've posted in one area when i've posted in another...

Ok found my way to the home directory...and then library/caches but /TemporaryItems/Outlook wasn't even in there

In Excel, go to File > Open Recent and mouse over (but do not click) the file. You should get a tooltip that will show you where the file is located.

Van it's not even showing up there....it's creepy I tell ya

For grins I opened the same original unedited file...saved it again under outlook temp folder and it doesn't show up in the recent either

Found the original file saved as /users/lniijjar/Library/Mail/V2/[email protected]@imap.mail.yahoo.com/INBOX.mbox/B59DEODB-FAE2-4FBB-8DA5-A7ABB1D10287/Data/4/Attachments/4045/2 I figured out where to type that in Finder...ugh..no luck

Wait, are you using Outlook or Apple Mail? That last directory you provided is for Apple Mail. If it is Apple Mail, look in ~/Library/Mail Downloads.

I'm using outlook but they are sync'd together....went and looked..there isn't a mail downloads folder after the Library directory... i'm so sorry this is such a pain in the butt..

Well, according to this, the temp folder is cleared out when Outlook closes. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
