I just bought my new MacBook Pro but am unable to install my Canon Pixma iP1600 printer. Canon no longer supports the printer. Does anyone know a way around it? Any other printer drive to be able to install it?

Canon still supports the printer, however, they no longer provide separate drivers. The printer should be able to be installed in Lion with the built in Canon drivers already supplied with Lion. Have you tried to install the printer?

Apple Software update just this evening downloaded a new batch of Canon drivers to my iMac. Try installing your ip1600 and let us know.

Install Canon printer

Thank you. I was told to install it from my original disk before attaching printer. That didn't work. But now I attached the printer and it automatically went to install. I'm all set now.
Thank you.
