Apple adds another U.S. iPhone carrier (and it's not T-Mobile)

One good reason for not going with T-Mobile is it's still unknown whether or not AT&T will be able to buy them. The courts will decide and we all know that can take a long time.

There's a big bonus for whatever executive at C Spire landed that deal.

But wouldn't T-Mobile still maintain its name even if it was purchased by AT&T?

I don't know how it works actually, but something similar occured here a few years ago. Fido was purchased by Rogers, and yet Fido still exists and has it's own stores and phone lineups.

How is this related to Apple and the iPhone? Well, Fido actually started selling the iPhone before Rogers :)

That depends on the terms of the sale. They might maintain the name for awhile but eventually they'll get swallowed up. One of the reasons for the US FCC suit against the sale. They're afraid Ma Bell will become a monopoly again.

I hope to see a few more regional carriers get the iPhone in the future.
