*DISCLAIMER*: I do NOT wish to illegally use a ripper. I wish to be able to copy MY DVDs that I OWN for backup purposes.

That said, is there a program out there that adequately and simply performs this function? To make a copy of MY LEGALLY OWNED DVDs to BACK UP FOR MY OWN USE?
