Well not exactly. You see, I am in a band. We are unsigned and do everything ourselves. We make our own web sites and music videos.

Anyhow, I posted here not too long ago toting the music video I made (using my mac) for our first self released single.

Now with the release of the new iPod, I believe we are the first unsigned band to offer, before everyone else, a purpose encoded free music video download for the new iPod.

You can get it here:

http://www.theerrorplains.net/videocast/

(You can watch it if you have QT7, you don't need a new iPod, but wouldn't it be more fun!)

Love Johnny of the errorplains

Very nice only one problem. It downloads as gibc_ipod.m4v.txt to get it to work you have to take off the .txt from it.

Yeah, I have no idea why it does that. Any suggestions?

Try deleting the file from your server and putting it back.

It's still not working for me. Are you using Safari?

Safari has trouble with certain types of mv4/mp4 files... it views them as text files. Your best bet is to right/ctrl+click on the link and "Download Linked File" and change the extension yourself.

I assumed it was a problem with the way Safari handles certain files. I was wondering if anyone has discovered a way around this problem.

That has to be the best music video I have seen in a long while.

Seriously I really enjoyed that, what a visual feast! Very arty, very glossy (literally!) overtones of pop culture in there (well that's how I read it), loving it!

And the song's pretty good too, kind of my thing (that and good old rock, alternative and the many hundreds of other stuff!)

Great stuff, thank you!

That was incredible, man. That just further proves my theory you don't need a full blown "professional" studio to produce great music. The video was amazing, and the song itself was very uniform; the guitar tone matched the vocals perfectly. Well done.

Once again, thank you all for your positive feedback.

Alas, we don't have a CD. Our material is mostly only suitable for live performances. We create a lot of loud silly electro noise that has no place in anyone's music collection. However, on occasion we do come up with a proper song like "Girls in Boys Clothes". Once we have an album's worth of this kind of material, if we can afford it, we might attempt to put a CD out.

The video made using Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
