Best compiler for Windows?

17" MBP C2D 2.8 4GB OS X 10.8 | iPhone 5
Last time I was programming I used Visual Studio 2005/2008. I'm just wondering if there is any other compiler people prefer more. Not sure how to look up best compilers. Thanks.

There are a variety of programming languages available to you. You can use Xcode with Objective-C/C/C++ or you can use one of the various scripting languages (Ruby, Perl, Python). You can also do .NET programming with Mono if you so choose.
