I want to transfer my music from my ipod to my computer at work - if i plug it in at work, it will sync with the itunes on the work computer and wipe the ipod clean - can i transfer my ipod/itunes library from home computer to a memory stick, insert it into work computer and drag to work itunes??

Yes, if your work computer uses the same iTunes account as your home computer and is "authorized" in iTunes.
