• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have some .ogm files that I want to rip to DVD. Sadly, ogm is not QT supported, so I can't do it with any standard mac DVD app (Toast etc). I need to convert the .ogm files to something else (.avi, .mpg, .mov) so that I can get QT to recognize them and then burn them.

Any ideas? I have had no luck finding anything for the Mac so far, and even a lot of folks in the PC world dislike ogm as well.

ogm is only audio though, so burning to a dvd is not a great idea, try using mplayer to play it and see if there ius any video in the file. there is a plugin for QT that converts ogm to something else I think.

I had always thought that ogm was an audio only codec as well, but these are Video files that play in both MPlayer and VLC. Neither can save it or manipulate it to a format that I can use to burn .
