I have a seagate barracuda hard drive with a broken pin in the 40 pin connector. Because of this I am unable to boot up from this drive. Is there a solution for this problem or have I lost the contents of the drive?

can you boot from a CD and run disk utility on the drive?

Here is what I see. If you or a friend has nardware skills. Then all you have to do is replace the 40 pin connector. After which you should be able to reconnect and use the drive.
