• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Well... the question is in the thread title! :)

I have Final Cut Pro Studio 7 - including all of it's parts - I have an upgrade to Lion waiting for me... but do I upgrade? Can anyone here confirm all FCPStudio works fine? I certainly don't wish to upgrade to FCPX! :)

Alright! Frustration is not good! I have a problem. I'm using a Mac Intel G5 dual core system. with FCP7, OS X, QT 7- all software is up-to-date. I have never gotten this before: "This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut"- I started a project yesterday, no updates on any software and then today I get the error message. The only upgrade this past week was FX Factory for plug-ins for FCP. I have trashed preferences, once I found my Library- thanks Lion for hiding it! so, tonight I will start by re-installing FCP and uninstalling FX Factory.

BTW- This happens on multiple projects and not just one project- the only way I was able to open a project was by opening a autovault save project file... How weird!!!
any thoughts my friends on Forum? -Ward
