Time names iTunes Music Store 'Coolest invention of 2003'
November 9, 2003 - 22:43 EST Time has named Apple's iTunes Music Store its "Coolest invention of the year." The magazine's Chris Taylor writes: "Other inventions this year may have more altruistic intentions (like Dean Kamen's water purifier) or be more visible on street corners (like those ubiquitous camera cell phones). But for finally finding a middle ground between the foot-dragging record labels and the free-for-all digital pirates and for creating a bandwagon onto which its competitors immediately jumped, Apple's iTunes Music Store is Time's Coolest Invention of 2003."

My Comments: Apple tends to do this do they not? :)

November 9, 2003 - 22:45 EST* Apple is now selling iTunes Gift Certificates on the online Apple Store. The electronic gift certificates, first introduced with iTunes 4.1 in mid-October, allow anyone to buy and download music from the iTunes Music Store without requiring a credit card. They can be sent to anyone with an e-mail address in pre-set amounts of US$10 to $200 (in increments of $10).
