• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I hope someone can help me. I've shot 2 videos on my Canon Camcorder FS100 and have transferred the files to my PowerBook G4 via SDHC memory cards. But I can't figure out how to open them to view or edit. I have an older Mac that has iMovie 5.0.2. There are MOD files and MOI files. I've tried many things, but have no idea how to get these videos ready for YouTube. Do I just need to upgrade iMovie? If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them! I also tried opening with an old version of GoLive to no avail. I also was told the software that came with this camera wouldn't work. Help!
