Hi guys!
I have the latest 13" MBP (early 2011, 2.3ghz i5, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, 3000HD gfx) and installed Windows 7 in boot camp. I also installed all of the drivers that came on the discs etc. Unfortunately, my system will idle around 60-70 degrees C, and when I open up very low intensity programes, such as a PSX emulator, the temperature rises up to as high as 90-95 degrees, even though the CPU is only about 10-20% in use. This seems far too high in my opinion!

Does anyone have the same problem, or know a way to solve this?

Sorry if this has been discussed a lot before - if you know a thread where it has been discussed please point me in it's direction!

Many thanks in advance

Tim

Yes...this has definitely been discussed before!!!;) Here you go:

Is this enough???...there are plenty more!;)

Reading these threads...you may not think that any of them are EXACTLY like your problem...but they really are. All MacBooks & MacBook Pros will get hot when certain high demand activities are being done. And it's not just about cpu usage...it's also how hard the gpu (graphics hardware) is working as well.

Thanks for the quick reply :) Yeah, I understand it's not just the load that causes it to heat up - just seemed odd that it was so much hotter running PSX emulator on Win 7 than World of Warcraft on max settings on OSX >.<

I'll just crank the fans up :)

Thanks again!

Yes...I understand what you mean. If World of Warcraft on max. settings doesn't heat things up as much...why would the PSX emulator on Win. 7. Logically...the conclusion would be that the PSX emulator in Win 7 is more demanding in some way than World of Warcraft.

Just curious...where are you running World of Warcraft...in Win 7 or within the Mac OS?

World of Warcraft in Mac OS

Seems crazy that even with no applications running there is a 30 degree difference between mac OS and Win 7 :O
