First let's recap the rules that we started out with in August:
  • Each member can post one photo in this thread each month.
  • The photo needs to be taken in the month covered in the thread title.
  • The photo cannot be larger than 800x600.
  • Please include the camera you took the picture with and the date of the picture in the description.
  • This thread is about sharing your photo not discussing technique, opinions of what is art, or to make disparaging comments on someone's picture. If you would like to discuss those things, please start a new thread.

Any posts in the thread that don't meet those guidelines will be removed.

This thread will be made monthly for people to share their work so other members can see the talent that exists here. Let's keep it fun and civil!

Since it's October and all...

I present: Oktoberfest 2005!

Take with a Sony Ericsson K750i 2 Megapixel camerphone with autofocus.
Isn't quite as purdy as some of yours, but you get the idea: lots of beer, lots of people, lots of fun :)

MMMM. I was able to experience a bit of this last year, all I can say is 4 months in Germany + no exercise = weight gain of 35lbs.

Great food, beer, and people. Nice shot, brings back some good memories.

Canon 20D - Taken downtown Atlanta leaving Falcons game last night, slow shutter. If I can ever get it to upload.

This one was also taken yesterday. You should have heard the crowd when Vick went down. Thankfully he got up.

The road down Mt Haleakala on Maui. Taken with my cheap Fuji-Fine Pix after watching the sunrise over the crater.

Campfire in the woods with my daughter's fifth-grade class. Out of focus, but I like the effect, especially the trail of sparks on top of the fire.

Taken on 6 October 2005 with a Canon SureShot s45.

This is the train station that I work near, the guy is one of the security guards that patrols there at night, they were all over me like a rash when they see my camera what with the terrorist bombings that were only 30 minutes away from this station. I showed them the shots and told them that I would delete any of them if they wished but they were both nice guys and had no problems after they had talked to me and see my photos. :)

Im getting into this a little late but I had to wait for the perfect picture and I think i have it. This was taken through one of the little glass bits in my front door. It was taken with a Canon PowerShot S2 IS.

Hiya,

My submission - taken February this year in Chicago, this is pretty much where the ertswhile Route 66 began.

Unfortunately being from England - I'm not sure what the actual street is called, but it is outside the Sears Tower I'm pretty sure.

The original 1600x1200 pic is here (less dark)
Route 66 Begins

Taken with a Sony Cybershot 2.1mp camera (not sure on the specs exactly! just a cheap camera, P50 maybe?)
