Hi, as an avid filmmaker I have obviously got a ton of movie files in my apple 'Movies' folder. Over 100GB. I think it would be better for the mac, and safer for my movies, if I used an external disk to keep my videos in. Is there a way to 'trick' Mac OS into thinking that the disk is the 'Movies' Folder? I could just move the whole folder, but then I would have to go through the process of finding hundreds of Adobe and iMovie lost files. Any ideas?

All you need to do is move the Movies folder over to the external storage, create an alias (by right-clicking the folder and choosing "Make Alias") and put the alias in place of the Movies folder.
