A good microphone to plug in directly to a Mac?

Hi Guys, can I pick your brains on something? I am planning to record an audiobook version of my boyfriends ebook and I need to buy a microphone for that (obviously).

So, could you recommend a good microphone to use directly with a mac, or am I better off getting something like the behringer podcast studio?

the Blue mics get pretty good praise for podcasting. can get quite cheap ones too.
