i don't know what the problem is, but my powermac g4 won't connect to my school's network in my dorm.. i can't get on the internet, use ichat, or do anything having to do with the network. i already tried using a different browser, tried switching my ethernet cable to the other connection in the room (my roomate's plug), restarted numerous times, and nothing is working. every time i restart, when it gets to the mac os x startup screen, the progress bar stops where it says "waiting for network initialization". it stays on this for 30-45 seconds, then i guess skips over it and continues starting up. i don't know what's wrong. if anyone can help, it would be very greatly appreciated.

thanks

yes. under the "network" system preferences pane, it says "configure using DHCP" and it's set for automatic. any ideas?
