I am still learning about my iMac here, I checked for updates today and the list came up with a new Version or update for Safari, I have 5.0.0 and I think the update or new version is 5.1.0 (?). Just remember that I still have the old pc mentality when it comes to updates, just hate them you can never tell what will happen when you say yes ! I just don't want to do the wrong thing here. Thanks

Install it, OS X isn't like Windows.

On Apple's "what's new" Safari page, none of the images of Safari windows shows tabs. In 5.1, are the tabs still located just above the content? I'd heard about a new browser version, not sure if it is Safari, that moved tabs to above the URL and toolbar. If I could find the time to visit an Apple Store...

But 5.1 is a lot faster in my opinion than the previous version. I use it exclusively now. I used to use Firefox but now my number one is Safari. I think it is faster than firefox by a wide margin. But that's not scientific it's just my feel.

Ok, I had Safari 5.0.5 and when I ran Software Update, it offered me 5.0.6 so I downloaded that and ran SU again. It did not tell me about the 5.1 version. I have Leopard, so I discovered that 5.1 does not run on 10.5.8 anyway. Oh well...
