Hi guys,

I had some AVI files that WERE working fine. However, after transferring them to a PC-based backup drive, and then one day trying to work with one in iMovie, something has apparently happened. I get an error message when I try to copy them back to the iMac - something about some properties will be lost if I continue the copy. When I then proceed with the copy to the iMac and I then try to view them in QuickTime or import them into iMovie *OR* Final Cut Express, they're all blank, and I get just the audio.

Anybody know what happened here, and if there is a way to get these BACK? What can I DO? It would SUCK to lose ability to work with these on my iMac. :(

They all play just fine on the PC, but the iMac won't have anything to do with them anymore.

I realize some programs can convert them but my experience so far has been that to convert means to drastically lose quality - so bad in fact that it's almost pointless to convert them at all.

Thanks,

Todd
