The new Macbook Pro 13.3'' model has Intel i5(Sandybridge) 2.3GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Graphics HD 3000 with 384 MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory. I will go for the upgraded 8GB RAM.

Will the absence of a dedicated graphics processor be an issue? I intend to create basic parts and assemblies in CATIA/UGS NX 6.0 or 7.5. The small screen is not an issue as I will use an external display. Thanks in advance.

That's a tough one to answer because you're referring to CAD type graphics and rendering. I'm not sure how well the Intel HD 3000 GPU with 384 MB of VRAM would be able to handle the graphic rendering demands. I would probably opt for the more powerful MBP 15" machine either low or high end with discrete graphics.

Maybe someone else with experience using CAD can better answer your question.
