Running Windows via Bootcamp? No problems then as this is a Windows music file.

Otherwise do a Google for Windows Media Player for Mac. Did you actually Google your question?

The OP *probably* means a WMP file.

I'm not sure why harryb would assume the poster was running Windows. Where did they say that?

Anyway, the actual answer (if it is indeed a WMP file) is to install Flip4Mac WMV Player, which is free. That will enable QuickTime player and other programs to play the file. You might also want to install Perian, which handles other "oddball" file types you might occasionally come across. Again, free.
