Hi,
I wanted to use bootcamp to create a partition for installing windows, but in the middle when boot camp was making the 20gb partition for my windowsxp i received a message that i had to restart the laptop (forced restart, by pressing down the power button and repressing it to activate).. When it was restarted, there was no second partition, unable to reboot to windows, BUT it did take in the 20gb of space. I wanted to take a look through boot camp, but when opening he just asked if i wanted to make a new partition.. Don't know how to access or remove this space.. Thanks for a fast feedback

If there is no 2nd partition, exactly where is this 20GB of space? A screen shot of Disk Utility might help.

Doesn't show anything in that picture except the space on the partition you have highlighted.
It surely does not show any 20GB missing.

Highlight the top item in the sidebar on the left and then the partition tab on the right - take a screen shot of that.

That shot shows a 121.33GB drive with a single 120.99GB partition on it. A difference of 0.34GB - not 20GB.

I sort of doubt that BootCamp is going to allow you to create a 20GB partition, since you only have 13GB of free space left on the drive.

If you need to see where and how your space is being used, there are several apps out there that can assist with that. I use WhatSize.

And, if BootCamp is still asking if you want to create a partition, that's a good indication right there you only have 1 partition, as BootCamp will not work if you already have multiple partitions.

Sorry, wasn't sure on what to show - only switched to mac not long ago.

But it really does take up the space, it just doesn't show up at all.
I had like 30 gig free space, wanted to partition 20 to windows xp but after a forced reboot i only had 10 left, without a new partition.

As I said, you only have one partition.

You need to be looking in Finder or other to see what is taking up the space on your drive. While not free, I like WhatSize. For free, you can grab DiskInventoryX.
